This revised and expanded volume offers more than one hundred Old World German recipes and historic photographs from the Amana Colonies in Iowa. Recipes include ones for traditional wedding cakes.

The Amanas were settled in the 1800s by German-speaking members of the Community of True Inspiration who were seeking religious freedom. Today, the seven historic villages make up the Amana Colonies, just off Interstate 80. The villages are Iowa’s top tourist destination.
